The doves have been circling all morning in our little corner of the brick-steel-glass canyons. Light flickers off their wings. I have not much hope of a nest being built within my view and so am enjoying the search now. Sometimes they pause and rest on my tree which is perfectly black from yesterday's rains, with little flurls of green flags at the ends of the most sunny branches.
