Every second, every minute, every hour of every day. . .


Spending for the war and occupation in Iraq surpassed $11 billion in June alone, increasing average monthly spending 27% in 2005 compared to 2004, and there is still no end in sight. After this $50 billion of additional appropriations, we can expect the White House to ask for more funding for the war as we move further into 2006. [from Code pink]

A million seconds is 11 days.

A billion seconds is 30.13 years.

A trillion seconds is is 30,130 years.

At a dollar a second it would take [11 x 30.13 =] 331.43 years to pay off the cost of this war in just June of this year.

So: WTF is wrong with this picture?
