From Ally's Mom...

In my sleep deprived state last night I forgot the most important part. They were able to remove most of the tumor. The chemo has turned it to concrete like material, so they were not able to get parts that were attached to major blood vessels and organs. We knew it would not all come out.

Last night they "kept Ally sedated" She has a breathing tube because she is so swollen. She is actually breathing on her own, but the tube is just keeping her airway open. Her blood pressure dropped so they had to decrease her sedation meds. Ally likes to sleep on her belly on a flat surface. Last night she was on her back on an incline. When they dropped her meds she "woke up" and rolled to her belly, about 6 times, causing a nurse, the respatory therapist and another medical person to come in and make sure nothing had been ripped out or moved. (She has wires and tubes EVERYWHERE!) Oh, Ally, Ally, Ally, always making things interesting. They finally upped the meds again and her blood pressure has been low, but not dangerously low.

Right now she is HUGE! Very swollen. I think they are looking for her to start peeing some of her fluids out (she has been peeing, but not a lot) before they take the breathing tube out, so it looks like she is going to be out of it for most of today.

I will try to update after rounds this morning. And maybe after a nap...working on about 3 hours sleep from about 3:00 AM on Tuesday, can't do math.....
