My 2¢

Morning, and the north is getting kinda peach colored. Can't see the east: there's a mountain in the way. Didn't sleep last night -- restless. So I set my hair on fire to keep awake. . . . Kidding. I set my hair on fire by accident. Bending over to pick up a bottle of calcium that fell off the edge of the desk, and failing to notice the candle, combined with freshly washed hair. . . . Actually sounds terrible, and it was a little scary, but no actual damage that I can find. Strange, eh? What a way to get rid of split ends (nope, I don't really *have* split ends, but it sounds good, lol!).

Got a lot of work done: finished washing and packing my Rosepoint china to cart to the charity peeps in Harrisonburg. Guess I'm past the point of wanting to do large formal dinners. My day-to-day china is a mixed lot. Pink plates from my sister (to match my pink stove), blue and white of various patterns, and some speckled blue enamel ware. I long ago gave up wanting dainty cups. I like mugs, and have a diverse collection. Which of course match nothing. Sort of like my life. Keeping just the Rosepoint platter: can never tell when you'll need an extra platter. And the Rosepoint is exquisite. One platter to remind me of the 15 years it took me to put together an eight place setting. . . . One Sally Ann at a time. . . .

I've been in such a *mood* for the past year: wanting to lighten up. Simplify. Envy city folk who have Sally (or surrogate) arrive at their doors and take things away. I know what I've hauled, and what my son's hauled, and what I've burned. And I think, it feels, like I've hardly made a dent. Alas. Only solution, I guess is to keep on keeping on. (As with everything else in life, eh?)

Had a lovely trash burn last night. One of the joys of country living, in fact. But I was waiting for a phone call, and didn't want to get too far from the living room. Phone call didn't come, or I missed it, and I realized later that if I'd just turned the computer off, I could have taken the phone out with me. Joys of technology after all.

I did get an email from a friend, with some startling information. And responded way too fast. If I'd just taken a breath or two, and thought about it, I wouldn't have sent it at all. I'd just have waited. Sometimes, I'm very good at waiting. Now I have fences to mend.

Lighter side: cat has decided a roll of weather stripping in the storage area is a snake, and is spending a fair amount of time sneaking up on it, stabbing at it with tooth and claw, and then pretending he never thought it was a snake at all. I should just reassemble it, and put it up out of his way, but the truth is, I'm having waaaaaaaaaay to much fun watching him. (Cat sez to tell you there's a special place in hell for owners like me.)(Ya. Right. As if I don't know who owns whom. . . . )(Cat must think I'm dumb, or sumpin.)

I was feeling a bit chilled as I was working, and now that it's light and I can see the thermometer out the window, I wasn't wrong: it's 35°! Guess it's still too early to plant tomatoes ~~ Spring comes late here.

Have a wonderful day!
