Two years ago

today, my niece Megan putting Tanner to bed noticed his tummy seemed swelled, and made a note to get him to the doctor the next day. Many of you have been following since.

Last week, the grandniece of a dear friend of mine, listener, had a well-baby checkup for her first birthday. . . . She has asked me to keep you all posted here on what is happening.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As anticipated, Ally had surgery today. They have confirmed that the tumor is cancerous.They should have the specific results from the biopsy tomorrow late afternoon. That will tell them what type of chemotherapy will be most effective. Additional test results will come within a week which will again give them more specific info. Right now we believe the plan is to shrink the tumor with chemo [6 or 7 treatments???]and then they will probably remove it. The surgeon said that the liver looked good but they were going to test it. She is in pediatric intensive care unit which is providing her with excellent care. Her Mom and Dad have two cots in the room so they can stay with her. They also have a room at the Ronald McDonald house. Today they also put in what they call a central line that allows them to draw blood and administer chemo without having to stick her again. This line could be in up to one year. They also put in her arm an "A" line which is to constantly monitor her blood pressure. They believe that the tumor is causing her to have high blood pressure. They are giving her blood pressure medicine to help control it. She was a real trooper today. Please continue to pray for Ally and her Mom & Dad. We'll update you again soon.
