Time has sure flown during this past year and a half. It seems unreal where we have been and what Tanner has accomplished. I am so amazed at his strong spirit and will. I love it when he says "I CAN!".

Tonight Tanner and I (dad) went to the Hospital to have labs done. It was a fun time with just Tanner and I. Our first stop was to pick up his prescriptions. More prograf, Nystatin and Flagyl. Next we headed up to the 2nd Floor, but Tanner detoured us to take a ride in the Elevator. The first one had Hot Air Balloons in it. Each Elevator has some theme. So we made it to the 2nd Floor, but the opposite end of the Hospital from where we needed to be. Then he walked across to the other elevators and pressed the down button. This elevator had a Train theme and he was saying "toot toot".

When we made it downstairs he told me to hold his hand and we headed down to the other end of the Hospital to go the Lab. We had to stop and look at all the Fishes in the Fish Tanks. Tanner has them memorized where they all are at! "Stop dad, Fish!". So dang adorable!

We finally made it to the Lab to drop off a sample of other sorts.;) We still had 20 minutes until Tanner had to have his labs drawn so we headed out.

Okay...we were on the 2nd Floor and Tanner saw the stairs. He keep saying "watch movies with the Nurses". I just went along with it. We headed up the stairs! Tanner walked up 2 floors to the 4th Floor where the ICS unit is and said "What's that?" as he headed toward ICS. It was a sculpture hanging from the ceiling of a boy riding a flying bike. We made it to the ICS Unit. Before you go in you have to wash your hands, so Tanner got up and washed his hands, dried them off and headed in as the door opened. The unit is sealed by double doors from the rest of the Hospital due to infection control.

He headed toward where the movies are kept and want to watch one. Well , I told him we had to wait until we got home. He was watching Mulan as I am writing this, but fell asleep.

All of the Nurses were so glad to see Tanner and how "Well" he looked. It was nice to see them again. I miss the place sometimes. They become your family and they have done a lot for us. So it was nice to visit.

Tanner played with some of the Toys and glitter until it was time to go and get his Labs.

We headed out toward the Elevators, but Tanner insisted on going down the stairs. This time he hopped down each stair saying "jump, jump, jump". I tried to make it fun for him.

Tanner was so brave tonight. I don't think that anyone gets use to getting their blood drawn. That first poke is always scary...even for me. I don't like it. Tanner didn't want the Band-Aid that the person had picked for him. It was a red crayon. He wanted a glitter Band-Aid instead. So he got a glitter one instead.

As we headed down the hall after we had his blood drawn, he yelled "I did it, I was brave". I told him he was very brave and that I loved him and he grabbed my hand and we headed downstairs. This time he opted for the Elevators.

Tanner brings pennies to throw in the fountain. This is the fun part for him. So he threw his pennies in, one, then another then the whole bag! He had a fun time doing that. He said he was hungry and we went and chose a donut. He was hungry he ate the whole thing on the way home.

I so much enjoyed my time with him. I am grateful for all of you that continue to read and follow our updates.

We hope to have a good report from our labs. We will let you know!

Thank you so much!!!!!!!!

Ah, Daddy Jason, what a lovely account of your Lab Time with Tanner!! ♥
I am grateful for the updates.
I still think about him and his precious red hair,
and all that you have endured and become enriched by.
I think that's the greatest bravery and victory of all...
that you didn't become bitter,
but kept your hearts open to the wonder.
I am grateful to tears, and smiles.
