Just back after three weeks in NYC, did not find even one New Yorker or Brooklyner unhappy with Toussaint. Every man jack supported him and the strike.
Don't read right rags. Yes, I'm sure is was possible to find some of the privileged (the ones in cabs rather than the ones walking) who were pissed that the less privileged were fighting rather than rolling over. . . .
I recall reading about one cab full of lawyers who were all for running a striker down.
Brooklyner may be New Yorkers, but within NYC they always distinguish themselves as such, lol!
Actually, since you to don;t read the right rags (both politically and for the average NYer), you wouldn't see the pent up hatred of the TWU for those few days by the average person.
Strike is over, people go back to doing the things they normally do.
Wow, you learned that a Brooklynite distinguishes themself from a Staten Islander from someone who lives in Queens. All in three weeks. Can you believe that! With all that time in NYC, you must be qualified to lead the Sienfeld tour.
Snotty isn't going to get you very far anywhere you go, lol!
No, I haven't spent a lot of time in NYC until this past year. But more the coming one. Hadn't actually noticed that anyone but Brooklyners made a point of it. . . .
I believe to lead a Sienfeld tour you might have had to have watched Sienfield. Since I never watched the show, that might disqualify me?
Water gathering
most days I wait
through blue and sun
till dusk
or even later
and the rose has faded
to lavender, to gray
some days, the sleet
has started
and the leaves underfoot
are slick with ice
somehow I'm never sorry
and never learn
one night I waited
till the stars were out
dropped the bucket into
sound, only felt the weight
of it filling
and the night full of stars
and the river full of stars
and the bucket full of stars
come morning, the coffee
is also full of stars

must be talking about the TWU president
Yeah. Right. You wish.

Guess you didn't read the NYPost during the strike and watch TV. Besides, people get back to work and focus on the here and now.
Also, Brooklynites are NYers.
