WALNUT PENUCHE

2 c. brown sugar 2/3 c. milk 1/8 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 4 tbsp. butter 1/2 c. walnuts, finely chopped Mix ingredients in saucepan. Boil slowly until a small amount dropped in a glass of cold water forms a soft ball. Cool and then beat until creamy. Add vanilla and walnuts. Pour into a buttered pan and cut into squares or spoon onto waxed paper. |
